Featured Designer Week 4
$1Wipe Out Wednesday!
New blog/server coming. I will post about this later in a separate post, but in the near future I will be switching servers and moving to Wordpress. I am really excited about this, but I am worried about losing all of you fine people that are following me through the blogger interface. I am not yet sure if my blog will still be directly at spinkydinkscraps.com of if it will be on a subdomain. If I am able to keep the blog as is, you all will probably be fine, but...just in case, sign up for my feed blitz feed temporarily, so I can be sure to send an update out when my blog has been switched.
Okay, back to my $1 Goodies. 1st up is my new release from last Friday. I was a bad blogger and didn't post about it. It is a HUGE pack of colored buttons, for CU/PU and No Credit Required. An awesome basic and a must have. Since I didn't blog about it, I decided to put it in the $1 category this week. They will be 20% off the rest of the week after today. Also, pardon the packaging. Scrapable is up for a new look and I am not quite finished getting everything repackaged!

Featured Designer Week 2
1.What is the name of the designer responsible for the creative designs of [Spinky Dinky Scraps]?
Lindsay Sparkes
2. Where do you live?
I live just north of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I was born in Connecticut, did a brief stint in Illinois, where my parents grew up, but have lived in Oklahoma nearly all my life. It really is a wonderful place to live and wouldn’t trade it for anything!
3. Tell us about yourself, your family, etc.
I’d like to say that I married my high school sweetheart, but that isn’t exactly how it worked. We did go to high school together, even middle school, but we weren’t really friends and didn’t date, except for our Senior Prom. He went off to play on a soccer scholarship in Wisconsin and I went on my way to The University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners!). We met up again the summer before our Senior year taking summer school classes at a local college. That was 10 years ago! We have been married for 5 1/2 years and have a nearly 2 year old little girl named Bailey, who is the joy of our lives.
I have been a SAHM (stay at home mom) for just about a year now, but prior to that I did my best to climb the corporate ladder, only to discover that really isn’t what I wanted out of live. All I ever really dreamed about being was a mommy. So, I am taking on that role head on and feel very blessed that I have been able to do so.
4. When and how did you become involved in Digital Scrap Design?
Well, I started out making blinkies for a parenting board I am a member of and then moved on to making “signatures”, from there it just kind of evolved into designing scrap kits. I started selling my product last November.
5. How often do you get to create layouts that are “just because” I want to scrap?
I have been trying to get better at doing this. It is very hard to find time between designing to scrap pages, but I do find that it helps get the creative juices flowing. I probably get 3 pages done a month if I am lucky.
6. Which of your designs is your “all time” favorite?
I am currently working on one that is going to be my all time favorite (so be on the lookout). But, if I were to have to pick one already in the store, I would choose Backyard Bliss.
7. What aspect of designing do you find most challenging?
Without a doubt, previews. I really struggle with putting them together for myself. Doing someone else’s preview is no problem, but I get cold feet when I try to do them for myself.
8. Who are a few of your favorite designers and why?
Goodness…soooo many. Definitely simply.scraps, I really enjoy the spark she puts in all her kits. I also really enjoy Amanda Rockwell and Lorie M Designs.
9. What did you want to be when you grew up and why?
I wanted to be a lawyer, because my initials spelled LAW. Such a dork. I am SOOO not lawyer material.
10. Where is the most interesting place you have ever visited and why?
Honestly, I am going to make myself sound like a dork, but, a few years ago my husband and I went to visit some caverns here in Oklahoma and a “bat watch” along with it. I am probably the prissiest priss ever, so I am not like into bats or anything, but that was THE COOLEST thing I have ever done. Besides that, we went to Maui on our honeymoon and that was paradise.
